What is EODD?

EODD (Eastern Oklahoma Development District) is a voluntary association of local governments – a partnership in planning and development.  District membership includes city, county and conservation district entities within Adair, Cherokee, McIntosh, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner Counties and Indian Nations.

Historical Background

EODD was organized in 1967 as an Economic Development District with seven county governments as charter members.  Today, membership also includes municipalities, conservation districts, and Indian Nations.  In 1971, the District was designated Oklahoma Substate Planning District Number Two and activities were expanded to include open space, water and sewer, solid waste, housing and land use planning.  In 1972, a program for the aging was initiated to provide a variety of services for the elderly.  In 1985, EODD was designated for full time Rural Fire Defense.
